Vistra reports weaker quarterly earnings, offers 2026 outlook

Investing.com -- Vistra reported weaker fourth-quarter earnings compared with the prior year and offered guidance for 2026.

The company’s shares rose around 1% in premarket trading on Thursday by 07:13 ET.

The company posted net income of $233 million, down from $490 million a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA totaled $1.74 billion, compared with $1.98 billion in the prior-year period.

For full-year 2025, Vistra reported net income of $944 million, including an unrealized loss from hedges expected to settle in future years of $808 million, and cash flow from operations of $4.07 billion.

Adjusted EBITDA rose to $5.91 billion from $5.64 billion a year earlier.

For 2026, the company guided to ongoing operations adjusted EBITDA of $6.8 billion to $7.6 billion and ongoing operations adjusted free cash flow of $3.925 billion to $4.725 billion, excluding any potential contribution from the Cogentrix assets.
