Virgin Galactic to launch commercial spaceflight service in late June; Shares jump

Investing.com -- Virgin Galactic soared in afterhours trading Thursday after the space tourism company detailed plans to launch its commercial space tourism service later this month.
Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc (NYSE: SPCE) was up 22% in afterhours following the news.
The first "Galactic 01," which will carry three crew members from the Italian Air Force and the National Research Council of Italy, is planning to fly between June 27 and runs to June 30, the company said. A second flight is planned for early August followed by monthly flights, the company said.
