Venture Global stock climbed 4.6% in morning trading Friday following reports that QatarEnergy is in advanced discussions to sign a long-term liquefied natural gas supply agreement with the company.
The potential deal would cover at least 3 million metric tons of LNG annually. If completed, the agreement would expand Venture Global's contracted portfolio and support the economics of its CP2 LNG project under construction in Louisiana.
QatarEnergy is seeking alternative supply sources after damage to its Ras Laffan export infrastructure from the ongoing conflict with Iran reduced the country's LNG export capacity. The state energy company had already been purchasing spot cargoes from Venture Global to meet customer commitments.
The reported negotiations would formalize that relationship into a long-term arrangement. QatarEnergy also announced a separate agreement with Cheniere Energy for 4 million tons per year.
Scotiabank raised its full-year 2026 earnings estimate for Venture Global ahead of Friday's trading session.
