US Navy aircraft transits Taiwan Strait in international airspace

Investing.com -- A U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon aircraft flew through the Taiwan Strait in international airspace on Wednesday, according to a statement from the U.S. 7th Fleet.

The transit demonstrates the United States' commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific, the fleet said in its statement.

The P-8A Poseidon is a maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft operated by the U.S. Navy.
