UK defence minister John Healey resigns amid spending dispute
Investing.com -- British Defence Minister John Healey resigned on Thursday following a disagreement with Prime Minister Keir Starmer over defence spending levels.
Healey announced his departure in a letter posted on X. In the letter, he wrote that Starmer "has been unable, and the Treasury has been unwilling, to commit the resources that the nation needs to defend the country at this time of rising threats."
The resignation stems from a dispute over the government's allocation of funds to the defence sector.
