Investing.com -- Swiss lawmakers have postponed a scheduled vote on proposed changes to UBS Group AG capital requirements, prolonging uncertainty about the future of the government's financial regulation overhaul.
The Economic Affairs and Taxation Committee of parliament's upper house did not vote on the matter Tuesday and will continue its discussions at its next meeting on Aug. 31, a parliament spokesperson said.
The postponement means UBS will wait longer for the first official signal of how lawmakers intend to modify a government proposal that could require the bank to hold approximately $20 billion more of its highest-quality equity capital.
