UAE seeks clarification on U.S.-Iran ceasefire terms
Investing.com -- The United Arab Emirates will seek clarification on the terms of the U.S.-Iran two-week ceasefire agreement to ensure Tehran's full commitment to a cessation of attacks on the region and unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a foreign ministry spokesperson said in a post on X on Wednesday.
The spokesperson emphasized that clarifications on the agreement would ensure Iran's full compliance to immediate cessation of all attacks in the region and unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
The UAE foreign ministry spokesperson said Iranian attacks on the Gulf country require a firm position against Iran and Tehran providing full compensation on losses and damage.
The spokesperson stressed that addressing Iranian threats must be comprehensive and complete, including nuclear and military capabilities and its proxies in the region.
The UAE foreign ministry said it exerted intensive diplomatic efforts to prevent the war and stressed the Gulf country was not involved in it.
