U.S. gasoline stockpiles rise to highest level since June 2020

Investing.com -- U.S. gasoline inventories increased last week, reaching their highest level in over five years, according to government data released Wednesday.

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported in its weekly Petroleum Status Report that gasoline stockpiles rose by 685,000 barrels to 257.9 million barrels for the week ended January 30. This marks the highest level since June 2020.

The report also showed that distillate stockpiles experienced their largest week-over-week decline since February 2021, though specific figures for the drop were not provided.

Additionally, U.S. weekly field production of crude oil fell to its lowest level since November 2024, the EIA data revealed.
