U.S. Treasury eyes airlines, maritime and digital assets for Iran sanctions
Investing.com -- U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Wednesday that airlines, the maritime industry and digital assets could face sanctions as the Trump administration works to pressure Iran's economy.
In a Fox News interview, Bessent warned that the government plans to systematically remove bad actors and urged everyone to stay away from supporting the Iranian regime.
The Treasury Secretary said he is holding extensive talks with anyone supporting Iran. He emphasized that no one should support this regime.
The comments signal potential expansion of economic measures targeting Iran across multiple sectors including transportation and cryptocurrency markets.
