Investing.com -- President Donald Trump said Friday he plans to pursue an "even stronger" approach to tariffs following a U.S. Supreme Court decision that ruled against his sweeping tariff measures.
Speaking at a briefing, Trump indicated he would invoke alternative federal authorities to implement trade restrictions. He cited the Trade Expansion Act and the 1974 Trade Act as potential legal frameworks for future tariff actions.
Trump claimed the Supreme Court decision enhanced his tariff powers, stating the ruling made his ability to impose tariffs more powerful. He also said income from tariffs would increase under his revised approach.
