Trump threatens jail over Iran rescue operation leak
Investing.com -- President Donald Trump said Monday he will demand that a reporter reveal their source for a story about a U.S. airman rescue operation in Iran, threatening jail time if they refuse to comply.
Trump made the remarks during a White House briefing on Monday, citing national security concerns as justification for his demand.
The president said the leak endangered U.S. forces and threatened the success of the rescue mission. He stated he would ask the media organization to provide the name of the person who leaked information about the Iran rescue operation.
