Trump says tariffs on autos expected around Apr. 2
Investing.com -- Trump said Friday that he plans to impose new tariffs on imported automobiles around Apr. 2.
The plans for levies on imported cars is likely to hurt growth in major carmaking nations including Germany, Japan, and South Korea.
The news comes just on the heels of Trump's announcement on Thursday to explore reciprocal tariffs on imported goods to the U.S., matching the levies that other nations impose on U.S.-produced imports.
