Trump says reached framework deal on Greenland, won't be imposing tariffs

Investing.com -- U.S. President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that his administration has formed a framework for a potential deal with NATO regarding Greenland and the Arctic region, following what he described as a "very productive meeting" with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at Davos.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that the solution, "if consummated, will be a great one for the United States of America, and all NATO Nations."

As a result of this understanding, Trump said he will not impose tariffs that were scheduled to take effect on February 1st.

The president mentioned that additional discussions are underway concerning "The Golden Dome as it pertains to Greenland," though no further details were provided.

Trump has appointed Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to lead the negotiations.

The president indicated that more information would be made available as discussions progress.
