Investing.com -- President Donald Trump said Monday that he is satisfied with the government's response to a hantavirus outbreak on a cruise ship that left three people dead.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said the virus is "not easy to spread" and that the US was in "very good shape" following the outbreak on the Hondius ship. The Dutch-flagged vessel required a multi-country response to evacuate passengers.

All 17 US citizens aboard the ship have arrived in Nebraska for assessment via a State Department airlift, the Department of Health and Human Services said late Sunday in a post on X. Two passengers were transported in biocontainment units as a precautionary measure.

Besides one person with a confirmed case, another passenger is showing mild symptoms, according to the department.

Trump praised the response in Nebraska, saying the state has done a fantastic job handling the situation.
