Trump posts chart with unreleased December jobs data on social media
Investing.com -- President Donald Trump posted a chart on social media Thursday evening that contained figures from the December employment report before its official release.
The chart, shared on Truth Social, showed the private sector added 654,000 jobs "since January" - information that matched data not publicly released until 8:30 a.m. Friday in Washington. Trump’s post appeared approximately 12 hours before the scheduled publication of the report.
Presidents typically receive a briefing on employment numbers one day before their public release. The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the early disclosure.
Bloomberg News first reported on Trump’s premature posting of the economic data.
