Trump had no direct talks with Democrats on shutdown, says White House

Investing.com -- U.S. President Donald Trump has not engaged in direct discussions with Democratic lawmakers regarding the ongoing government shutdown, according to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

In a statement on Wednesday, Leavitt indicated that Democrats submitted what the White House characterized as an "unserious proposal" Tuesday night.
