Trump approves limited Jones Act waiver extension
Investing.com -- President Donald Trump granted an extension of a Jones Act waiver on Monday, according to a White House official. The extension includes certain restrictions.
The Jones Act mandates that cargo transported between U.S. ports must be carried on vessels constructed in the United States, owned by American companies, and staffed by U.S. workers.
The waiver is designed to reduce gasoline prices by allowing greater shipping flexibility and easing transport bottlenecks.
