Trump allows Nvidia to ship H200 chips to China with 25% tariff

Investing.com -- President Trump announced Monday that his administration will allow Nvidia to ship its H200 products to approved customers in China and other countries under specific national security conditions.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that Chinese President Xi responded positively to the arrangement, which includes a 25% payment to the United States on these transactions.

"This policy will support American Jobs, strengthen U.S. Manufacturing, and benefit American Taxpayers," Trump wrote.

The president criticized the previous administration’s approach, claiming it forced American companies to develop "degraded" products that "nobody wanted" and "slowed Innovation."

Trump emphasized that Nvidia’s U.S. customers are already proceeding with the company’s advanced Blackwell chips and upcoming Rubin chips, neither of which are included in this new China export arrangement.

The Department of Commerce is finalizing the details of the policy, which Trump indicated would also apply to AMD, Intel, and other American technology companies.
