Trump administration plans $900 million White House construction, WaPo reports
Investing.com -- The Trump administration plans to spend at least $900 million on construction projects at the White House grounds, according to records cited by the Washington Post on Wednesday.
The administration gathered funding from other agencies and private donors rather than obtaining money directly from Congress, the report said. The funds were directed to an account that typically holds a few million dollars for routine White House maintenance.
Confidential contracts and related planning documents show the administration intends to use money in that account for White House "modernization projects," according to the report.
