Investing.com -- Tesla registrations increased across multiple European markets in June, according to data released on Wednesday. The gains came ahead of the electric vehicle maker's second-quarter delivery report.
Tesla registrations, which serve as a proxy for sales, rose 39% in Denmark, 56% in Sweden and 5.6% in Spain, according to bilstatistik.dk, Mobility Sweden and ANFAC. In France, registrations more than doubled, according to auto industry body PFA.
The increases follow a weak period for Tesla in Europe, where the company lost market share last year as Chinese brands expanded their presence and its model lineup remained limited. Some consumers also reacted against CEO Elon Musk's political stance.
Norway showed a different pattern, with new Tesla registrations falling 43% from a year earlier, according to data from compiler OFV.
Britain and Germany, Europe's two largest car markets, are scheduled to release June registration data later this week.
The June data precedes Tesla's quarterly delivery figures.
