Investing.com -- Tesla's China-made electric vehicle sales grew 3.6% year-on-year in August, marking a sharp deceleration from the previous month's growth rate, according to data released Wednesday by the China Passenger Car Association.
The U.S. automaker sold 86,166 units of its Model 3 and Model Y vehicles from its Shanghai factory during the month. The figure includes both domestic sales and exports to Europe, Asia Pacific and Canada.
August's annual growth rate represents a significant slowdown from July's 38% year-on-year increase.
Sales also declined 7.9% compared to July on a month-on-month basis.
