Strategy Inc shares dropped 5.1% in morning trading on Monday, falling to $138.63 as Bitcoin weakness and the absence of new cryptocurrency purchases weighed on the stock.
The company disclosed that it made no Bitcoin purchases or sales during the week of October 19 through October 25, leaving its total holdings unchanged at 848,517 BTC. The announcement came as investors watched for Michael Saylor's typical Sunday social media signals about upcoming Bitcoin acquisitions, which did not appear last week.
Bitcoin traded around the low $80,000 level, approximately 8% below its recent monthly high. Strategy's stock is viewed as a leveraged proxy for the cryptocurrency.
The decline followed a roughly 7.5% gain in the previous session, with profit-taking contributing to Monday's reversal.
Strategy instead allocated capital to repurchase approximately 2.07 million STRC preferred shares for around $204.9 million during the week.
