Investing.com -- Stellantis has initiated a recall affecting approximately 700,000 vehicles worldwide due to a fire risk, the company confirmed on Wednesday.
The recall, which was announced by Germany's KBA regulator on Tuesday, affects vehicles produced between mid-2023 and early 2026. The affected models include cars from Peugeot, Citroen, Fiat, Jeep, Alfa Romeo, and Lancia.
According to notices from the KBA regulator, the vehicles should be checked for a possible defect that can allow water to enter the engine compartment, which could potentially lead to a fire.
Stellantis said in a statement that customer safety was at the core of its values. The company will offer a free service to resolve the issue, which is expected to take around 30 minutes to complete.
