SoftBank completes $40 billion investment in OpenAI, CNBC says
Investing.com -- SoftBank Group has completed its $40 billion investment in OpenAI, CNBC reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The Japanese conglomerate agreed to lead this funding round in early 2025, making it one of the biggest private tech investments ever.
Under founder and CEO Masayoshi Son, SoftBank has been developing one of the world’s largest private technology investment programs, with a strategic focus on artificial intelligence and related infrastructure.
