SLMT CEO says ARK buying is getting ahead of a valuation shift

Investing.com -- Cathie Wood’s ARK recently increased its position in Brera Holdings (rebranding as Solmate) (SLMT), building on existing holdings, as investor interest grows around the company’s Solana-focused infrastructure strategy.

The move comes as SLMT aims to position itself as a long-term infrastructure provider for tokenized financial assets, with CEO Marco Santori telling Investing.com that investor conviction has been shaped by the company’s execution against a clearly defined roadmap.

“Solmate follows a straightforward playbook: Show our investors a growth roadmap, then execute on it,” Santori said.

He pointed to a series of milestones already delivered, including building a large treasury to validate crypto transactions, developing a bare-metal validator in partnership with RockawayX, and advancing an aggressive M&A strategy culminating in a signed term sheet to merge with RockawayX.

Santori believes this track record has influenced how investors such as ARK view the company.

“From a qualitative perspective, I think investors value the company because we say what we’ll do and then do it,” he told Investing.com, adding that “most investors are probably valuing us like a treasury company – on the basis of our Net Asset Value – when we believe we should be valued on the basis of future earnings like most other companies.”

He suggested that ARK and other buyers may be positioning ahead of a potential shift in valuation, as SLMT expands beyond being seen purely as a crypto treasury play.

Central to that shift is the company’s belief that tokenization will extend well beyond cryptocurrencies.

“We’re building for a world where securities and other financial assets – not just crypto coins – are tokenized on high-performance blockchains,” Santori stated.

He added that infrastructure leaders in that environment will be those “who wield large treasuries to validate transactions on a high frequency basis.”

Santori believes increased interest from “blue-chip investors like Ark” supports SLMT’s ability to scale, particularly in Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE, which sits at the center of its growth plans.

“More investor interest means a bigger treasury and better scale in the UAE,” he said, adding that the company aims to “build the infrastructure for the new tokenized Wall Street in the UAE.”
