Rocket Lab wins $266 million Defense contract

Investing.com -- Rocket Lab USA Inc. (NASDAQ: RKLB) has been awarded a $266 million firm-fixed-price completion contract by the U.S. Department of War for suborbital launch services. The contract provides for the launch of 12 suborbital launch vehicles, with six optional launches.
Work will be performed at Pacific Spaceport Complex in Alaska and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2028. The Long Beach, California-based company secured the contract through a competitive acquisition process that received three offers.
Fiscal 2025 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $112 million are being obligated at the time of award. The Space Systems Command at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, serves as the contracting activity.
