Reddit shares climb on strong user growth data

September 10, 2026 10:25 AM EDT

Reddit Inc. shares rose 5.3% in morning trading Thursday following the release of audience measurement data from Piper Sandler showing the platform's user base expanded 8% month-over-month in August 2026.

The August growth rate marks the highest monthly increase recorded this year and represents a recovery from a 2% decline in July. Year-over-year audience growth accelerated to 18.0%, up from 12.8% in the prior month. Feed users added tens of millions of new participants during the period.

The advance follows CEO Steve Huffman's appearance at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference on September 8, where he discussed Reddit's cash generation and user engagement. Huffman said the company is refining its recommendation engine and addressing logged-out traffic volatility.

California State Teachers Retirement System disclosed an enlarged position in RDDT in a filing released Thursday.
