Raytheon wins $603 million B-52 radar contract from Air Force

Investing.com - Raytheon has been awarded a $603 million contract by the U.S. Department of War to produce and sustain radar systems for B-52 aircraft. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract was announced Tuesday.

The contract covers radar modernization on B-52 aircraft, equipping them with the new AN/APQ-188 radar system. Work will be performed across four locations: Forrest, Mississippi; El Segundo, California; McKinney, Texas; and Warner Robins, Georgia.

The project is expected to be completed by Aug. 20, 2031. The contract was awarded as a sole-source acquisition, meaning Raytheon was the only company considered for the work.

Fiscal 2026 aircraft procurement funds from the Air Force totaling $46,008,396 are being obligated at the time of award with the initial delivery order. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio is the contracting activity.

Raytheon is based in El Segundo, California. The contract number is FA8628-26-D-B001.
