RTX secures $42 million F-35 engine contract

Investing.com - RTX Corp's (NYSE: RTX) Pratt and Whitney Military Engines division was awarded a $42,096,941 contract modification for F-35 propulsion system sustainment, according to a Thursday announcement from the Department of War.

The modification definitizes a previously awarded fiscal 2026 undefinitized contract action for F135 propulsion systems supporting the F-35 Lightning II aircraft. The contract covers global unit and depot-level sustainment, replenishment spare parts, engineering support, software sustainment, configuration management, and depot maintenance and repair for fielded propulsion systems.

Work will be performed across multiple locations, with East Hartford, Connecticut accounting for 40% of the effort, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 21%, and Indianapolis, Indiana 12%. Additional work will take place in West Palm Beach, Florida; Windsor Locks, Connecticut; and international sites in Norway, Netherlands, Japan, Australia, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The effort is expected to be completed in November 2026.

The contract supports the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, F-35 Cooperative Program Partners, and Foreign Military Sales customers. Fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance funds totaling $27,783,981 are obligated, along with $8,723,746 in F-35 cooperative program partner funds and $5,589,214 in FMS customer funds.

Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland serves as the contracting activity. The contract was not competed.
