Qualcomm tops Q4 on chip demand but shares slip
Investing.com -- Qualcomm on Wednesday reported quarterly profit and revenue above Wall Street expectations, helped by record chip sales in its core business, but shares fell 2% in extended trading as the chipmaker provided its current quarter guide.
The chipmaker posted fourth-quarter earnings per share of $3, above analysts’ estimate of $2.87, on revenue of $11.27 billion, also ahead of the expected $10.75 billion.
Qualcomm forecast earnings of $3.30 to $3.50 per share on revenue between $11.8 billion and $12.6 billion for the first quarter. The midpoint of the range implies moderate sequential growth from the reported quarter.
Full-year revenue rose to $44.3 billion, while non-GAAP earnings reached $12.03 per share. Qualcomm’s chip unit, QCT, delivered record annual revenue, with sales to non-Apple customers up 18% and combined automotive and Internet of Things revenue climbing 27%.
“Our business remains strong as demonstrated by record QCT revenues in fiscal 2025,” Chief Executive Cristiano Amon said, citing momentum in automotive chips, data centers and robotics.
