Putin says Russia open to concrete talks on Ukraine conflict

Investing.com -- Russian President Vladimir Putin said today that Moscow was open to concrete talks on settling the Ukraine conflict if new momentum could be injected into negotiations.

Putin made the remarks to reporters after a summit in Kyrgyzstan. He expressed confidence that Russian forces would prevail in Ukraine and said Kyiv's forces would "crumble."

The Russian president said the main challenge for Russia was drones but added that Moscow was dealing with the issue.

"We are not against if anyone is able to bring positive momentum," Putin said regarding potential talks on the conflict.

Putin also commented on working with individuals close to former U.S. President Trump, stating: "We find it much more comfortable to work with people we trust. These are people close to Trump." He specifically named Kushner and Witkoff as welcome guests.

When asked about Ukrainian President Zelenskiy's comments that Ukraine is ready to close Russian airspace, Putin responded: "I haven't heard it, but it sounds like state terrorism." He added: "No negotiations are held with terrorists. We will respond."
