Pope Leo to release first encyclical on artificial intelligence
Investing.com -- Pope Leo will publish his first major document on May 25, the Vatican said Monday. The text, an encyclical titled "Magnifica Humanitas" (Magnificent Humanity), is expected to focus on artificial intelligence, workers' rights, and ongoing global conflicts.
The pope formally signed the document Friday, according to a Vatican statement. Pope Leo, the first U.S. pontiff, will participate in a public presentation of the encyclical in Rome on the publication date, marking an uncommon step for a Catholic leader.
The encyclical is anticipated to address the expansion of artificial intelligence technology and its implications for labor, while also condemning wars currently affecting various regions worldwide.
