OpenAI executive Brad Lightcap departs to start new project
Investing.com -- OpenAI executive Brad Lightcap is leaving the artificial intelligence company to pursue a new venture, several months after stepping down from his position as chief operating officer.
Lightcap shared the news with OpenAI employees in a note. "Over the last few months, I've been focused on the next horizon," he wrote. "I believe there are a few important things the world will need to get right as we enter this next period. I'll have more to share soon."
Lightcap joined OpenAI in 2018 and was instrumental in developing the company's enterprise business. He moved out of the COO role in April during a broader reorganization of the company's leadership team.
Following the April changes, Lightcap led special projects and reported directly to Chief Executive Officer Sam Altman.
Lightcap said he will stay at OpenAI for several more weeks.
