Nvidia invests in four French technology startups, Les Echos reports
Investing.com -- Nvidia Corp has agreed to purchase stakes in four French technology companies, according to a report by French newspaper Les Echos on Tuesday.
The chipmaker will acquire minority positions in Doctolib, Genesis AI, Pigment, and Entalpic, the newspaper said. Nvidia Chief Executive Jensen Huang announced the investments at a reception held at Place Vendôme in Paris, attended by French Economy Minister Roland Lescure and representatives from French technology companies.
Doctolib operates in the healthcare sector, while Pigment focuses on financial planning. Genesis AI works in robotics, and Entalpic specializes in chemistry.
Doctolib had previously disclosed that Nvidia agreed to buy a minority stake in the company but did not specify the size or value of the investment. The company stated that Nvidia's involvement would support its development of artificial intelligence tools.
Nvidia, which has a market capitalization of $5.44 trillion, made the announcement during Huang's European tour. According to the Les Echos report, Huang said the investments aim to "launch the artificial intelligence revolution in Europe."
The newspaper did not provide details on the financial terms or stake sizes for any of the four investments.
