Investing.com -- Nurix Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: NRIX) shares fell 34% in after-hours trading Tuesday following Sanofi’s decision to discontinue development of SAR448272, an oral STAT6 degrader.
Sanofi notified Nurix that it will terminate the Phase 1 first-in-human clinical trial of SAR448272 and end the program entirely. The decision eliminates Nurix’s eligibility for future development, regulatory and commercial milestone payments and royalties tied to SAR448272 under the collaboration agreement.
Nurix retains eligibility for milestone payments and royalties from other licensed programs under its collaboration with Sanofi that may be developed into clinical candidates. The company said the announcement does not affect its cash runway guidance, with cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities of $1.1 billion as of August 31, 2026, sufficient to fund operations into the second half of 2029.
The company maintains three clinical-stage programs across its wholly owned and partnered portfolio. Bexobrutinib, its lead BTK degrader program partnered with Roche, is advancing in a Phase 3 trial for patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The wholly owned CBL-B inhibitor NX-1607 is progressing in multiple Phase 1b cohorts for patients with lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and melanoma. The IRAK4 degrader for rheumatoid arthritis, GS-6791/NX-0479, is advancing through Phase 1 trials with partner Gilead.
Nurix is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on targeted protein degradation medicines.
