Nuclear power giant Westinghouse confidentially files for US IPO
Investing.com -- Westinghouse Electric Company has confidentially submitted a draft registration statement on Form S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed initial public offering of its common stock, the nuclear technology and services supplier said Friday.
The Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania-based company is currently jointly owned by Cameco, which holds a 49% stake, and Brookfield Renewable Partners, which owns 51%.
Westinghouse provides nuclear products and services to utilities around the world, including nuclear fuel, service and maintenance, instrumentation, control and design of nuclear power plants.
The company has not yet determined the number of shares to be offered or the price range for the proposed offering.
Confidential filings allow companies to keep their financial information private until closer to the listing date and prepare for IPOs without public market scrutiny.
Westinghouse joins other nuclear companies entering public markets this year. X-Energy and Standard Nuclear have completed traditional IPOs in 2026.
