Northrop Grumman wins $863M Army contract for precision kits

Investing.com - Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. (NYSE: NOC) was awarded an $862,848,000 contract by the U.S. Department of War to manufacture precision guidance kits for the Army.

The firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covers the manufacture, inspection, testing, packaging and delivery of M1156 precision guidance kits and variants. The Minneapolis-based division will perform the work through an estimated completion date of Sept. 3, 2031.

Army Contracting Command in Newark, New Jersey, is the contracting activity under designation W15QKN-26-D-A072. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order placed under the contract.

The Department of War solicited bids via the internet and received one proposal. Northrop Grumman was the sole bidder for the precision guidance kit manufacturing contract.

The M1156 precision guidance kit converts standard artillery projectiles into GPS-guided munitions. Northrop Grumman manufactures the kits at its Minneapolis facility.
