Northrop Grumman wins $508M missile defense contract

Investing.com - Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) was awarded a $508.5 million contract by the U.S. Department of Defense to provide flight test support for ballistic missile targets and integrated logistics support for Missile Defense System testing, the department announced today.

The noncompetitive contract covers support for remaining Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile and Intercontinental Ballistic Missile targets. Work will be performed in Chandler, Arizona; Corinne, Utah; and Elkton, Maryland, from September 2026 through August 2035. The Missile Defense Agency in Huntsville, Alabama, awarded the contract and obligated $8.8 million in fiscal 2026 research, development, test, and evaluation funds.

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp.-Marine Systems was also awarded a $111.4 million contract for ship service turbine generator maintenance, overhaul, repair, and long-lead time material supporting the Virginia class nuclear-powered attack submarine fleet. The firm-fixed-price and cost-only, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract includes options that could increase the total value to $253.3 million.

Work under the submarine contract will be performed in Sunnyvale, California (40%); Norfolk, Virginia (15%); Kittery, Maine (15%); Bremerton, Washington (15%); and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (15%). The work is expected to be completed by August 2031, or August 2034 if all options are exercised.

The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C., awarded the submarine contract on a sole-source basis under 10 U.S. Code 3204(a)(1). No funds will be obligated at the time of the award; funds will be obligated on individual orders as they are issued.
