NATO drone shot down in Romanian airspace

Investing.com -- Allied fighters operating under NATO command and control shot down a drone in Romanian airspace on Friday, according to NATO Air Command.

Romanian authorities reported earlier Friday that an F-16 fighter jet brought down the drone after it entered the country's airspace.

NATO stated that an investigation into the incident is underway. The alliance said it maintains close contact with Romanian authorities regarding the matter.
