Investing.com -- The European Commission continues to hold discussions with Meta Platforms Inc following preliminary findings from two years ago that determined the company violated the Digital Service Acts through addictive design features on Facebook and Instagram, Commission spokesperson Thomas Regnier said on Wednesday.

Regnier declined to comment on a settlement Meta reached with nearly all U.S. states that included an $18 billion payment and a series of commitments.

The company retains the option to propose commitments to the EU, Regnier said in a statement.
