Meta AI adds task management and calendar integration features

Investing.com -- Meta AI introduced new features on Friday that allow the assistant to make plans, connect to email and calendar applications, and complete tasks for users.

The updates are powered by Muse Spark 1.1, Meta's AI model that was announced earlier this month. The model enables Meta AI to plan, work with apps, and complete tasks from start to finish.

Meta AI can now create plans and follow through on next steps without requiring additional prompts. The assistant can help users renovate their kitchen by learning their style, searching Marketplace for furniture within their budget, and creating a mood board. It can also build a running plan for a half marathon with a week-by-week training schedule that adjusts to user availability.

The service now offers a daily briefing feature that pulls information from calendars, identifies schedule conflicts or changed plans, and provides summaries at a preferred time. Users can set up recurring tasks once, such as weekly meal plans or updates on specific topics, and Meta AI will continue delivering them.

Meta AI can conduct research by gathering information from across the web, including research papers and content shared on Meta's apps. The assistant can also generate slides based on research findings.

Users can provide feedback while Meta AI creates reports, presentations, or plans. All content created by Meta AI is stored in one location for users to review, modify, and share.

The features began rolling out Friday in select markets through the Meta AI app and meta.ai. Meta plans to expand availability to additional countries and platforms, including WhatsApp, in the coming weeks.
