Merck names Bart Gourley as Chief AI Officer

Merck has appointed Bart Gourley as Vice President of Artificial Intelligence, Process, Engineering and Experience (APEX) and Chief AI Officer, according to a company statement.

Gourley brings more than 20 years of experience in enterprise AI, digital and cloud transformations. He has previously held leadership roles at EY, Amazon and Accenture, and has supported digital transformation initiatives for organizations including Google, Apple, Disney and T-Mobile.

At Merck, Gourley will join the IT leadership team and work alongside incoming Chief Information and Digital Officer Gaurav Gupta to advance the company's enterprise AI strategy.
