Mazda North America reports 14% drop in January sales
Investing.com -- Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) reported total January sales of 28,958 vehicles, marking a 14 percent decrease compared to January 2025.
The company's sales decline was even steeper when adjusted for selling days. With 26 selling days in January 2026 versus 25 days in January 2025, Mazda posted a 17.3 percent decrease on a Daily Selling Rate (DSR) basis.
Despite the overall decline, MNAO achieved its third best January sales performance with the 28,958 vehicles sold. The company also set a new record for January sales of the CX-50 model, with 10,415 vehicles delivered.
Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle sales showed strength, totaling 6,109 units in January, representing a 15.6 percent increase compared to the same month last year.
Performance varied across North American markets. While U.S. sales declined, Mazda Canada, Inc. (MCI) reported January sales of 4,974 vehicles, a 4.9 percent increase compared to January 2025. Mazda Motor de Mexico (MMdM) performed even better, with January sales of 8,704 vehicles, representing an 11 percent increase over the same period last year.
