Marvell Technology stock rises after executives buy shares worth over $2M

Investing.com -- Marvell Technology (NASDAQ: MRVL) stock rose 3% on Thursday following significant share purchases by several company executives, including its CEO and CFO.


Chairman and CEO Matthew Murphy led the buying activity, purchasing 13,600 shares at an average price of $77.09 per share, representing an investment of approximately $1.05 million. The transaction increased Murphy’s direct ownership to 268,637 shares.


Other executives also made substantial purchases on September 25. Chief Financial Officer Willem Meintjes acquired 3,400 shares at $78.03 per share, worth about $265,300, bringing his direct holdings to 132,159 shares.


Sandeep Bharathi, President of the Data Center Group, bought 3,400 shares at the same price of $78.03 per share, a purchase valued at approximately $265,300. This increased his direct ownership to 73,392 shares.


Additionally, President and COO Chris Koopmans acquired 6,800 shares at $78.03 per share through a family trust, an investment of roughly $530,600. The Christopher R. Koopmans and Heather J. Koopmans Family Trust now holds 104,825 shares.


The combined purchases by these executives totaled over $2.1 million, signaling potential confidence in the company’s prospects. Insider buying is often viewed by market participants as a positive indicator regarding management’s outlook on a company’s future performance.
