Man accused of Trump assassination attempt in April pleads not guilty

Investing.com -- Cole Tomas Allen, the 31-year-old man charged with attempting to kill President Donald Trump at a Washington hotel last month, entered a not guilty plea during a federal court hearing on Monday.

Allen faces charges of attempted assassination and gun-related offenses stemming from an April 25 incident at the hotel where Trump was attending the White House Correspondents' Association annual dinner. The incident involved a shootout with Secret Service agents.

A magistrate judge ruled that Allen will remain in custody as the criminal case moves forward.
