Lockheed Martin secures $130 million contract for Australian Air Force

Investing.com -- Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) Rotary and Missions Systems has been awarded a $129,986,060 contract to support the Royal Australian Air Force C-130J Maintenance and Aircrew Training Systems program.
The U.S. Department of War announced the firm-fixed-price contract on January 22, 2026. The deal is structured as a Foreign Military Sales effort for the Royal Australian Air Force.
Under the contract, Lockheed Martin will provide two weapon system trainers, one database generation system, one enhanced-integrated cockpit system trainer, and one loadmaster part task trainer. The company will also upgrade one virtual simulator and one virtual maintenance trainer.
Work will be performed in Marietta, Georgia, and Richmond, Australia, with completion expected by March 31, 2030. The contract was awarded as a sole source acquisition, with the full amount of $129,986,060 in Foreign Military Sales funds being obligated at the time of award.
In a separate development, Lockheed Martin Space Mission Systems received a $10,188,893 contract modification for the Mark IV-B weather program. This modification increases the total contract value to $21,904,640 from $11,715,747.
Work for this weather program will be carried out at multiple locations including Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii, Andersen AFB in Guam, Kadena Air Base in Japan, Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, Kapaun Air Base in Germany, Soto Cano in Honduras, Offutt AFB in Nebraska, and Elemendorf AFB in Alaska. The project is scheduled for completion by January 31, 2027.
The Space Systems Command Directorate of Contracting at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado is overseeing this contract activity, with $5,917,383 in fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance funds being obligated at the time of award.
