Kremlin says no decision yet on possible Putin-Trump summit

Investing.com -- The Kremlin said Thursday that no decision has been made regarding a potential December summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters it was too early to discuss what topics the two leaders might address.

The United States invited Putin to a December G20 meeting in Miami, Florida, where he could meet with Trump, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Wednesday.

Peskov said the Kremlin values the invitation and will review it before making a decision. He declined to provide details about potential discussion topics.

Trump has attempted to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine since returning to the White House in January last year. These efforts have not produced a breakthrough.

Peskov repeated Russia's stance that it seeks a peace settlement rather than a temporary ceasefire.
