Kalshi CEO says company is considering IPO plans
Investing.com -- Prediction market platform Kalshi is in the early stages of planning a potential initial public offering, CEO Tarek Mansour said Wednesday on CNBC's "Squawk Box."
Mansour said the company will not go public this year but noted that discussions about an IPO are natural given Kalshi's current growth trajectory.
"A company of our financial profile with the rate of growth that we're seeing, that sort of conversation has to happen," he said. "People start asking that question. And we're basically thinking about it, but obviously, we don't have an answer yet."
Mansour did not provide a specific timeline beyond confirming that an IPO will not happen in 2026.
Kalshi's valuation reached $2 billion at the end of June 2025. In May, the company announced a Series F funding round that increased its valuation to $22 billion.
Mansour addressed concerns about potential insider trading on the platform, describing measures the company has implemented. These include enhanced procedures to identify traders' employers and "Know Your Customer" verification requirements.
He also referenced legal actions Kalshi has taken against individuals as evidence of its efforts to address insider trading concerns.
"It's a hard problem," Mansour said about creating market integrity on the prediction market platform, "but it's not an impossible one."
