Jannik Sinner withdraws from U.S. Open due to knee injury

Investing.com -- World number one Jannik Sinner announced today that he will not compete in the U.S. Open due to a continuing knee injury.

"Even though I have been working hard with my team and my medical staff, we have now had to make the difficult decision that I will not be able to compete at the U.S. Open this year," Sinner said in a statement on X.

Sinner said his team returned to the court in Monte Carlo in recent days but determined he requires additional recovery time for his right knee issue.

The U.S. Open is scheduled to run from August 23 to September 13.
