Investing.com -- Shares of JBS and Tyson Foods fell on Friday after President Donald Trump announced an executive order allowing ranchers to process their own beef.

JBS declined 1.4% while Tyson Foods dropped roughly 1.5%. Both stocks quickly moved to session lows following the announcement.

Trump stated he was "taking action to help cattle ranchers" and announced he would sign an order "giving ranchers and farmers the right to process their own food."

The order will also authorize ranchers to protect cattle herds from gray wolves and require country of origin labeling for imported beef, Trump said.
